Erth's Dinosaur Zoo

What an extraordinary show for wee ones! I took my daughter to the Southbank Centre’s Imagine Festival — an arts festival for babies and kiddos. This show, from Australia but known worldwide, introduces young ones and their parents to full-sized dinosaur puppets. The kick of the show is that the dinos are treated as totally and completely real. The host cues up each dino and they come out with shrieks and hisses and fear and shyness or violence. The puppeteers quickly melt away and all one thinks is: dinosaur on stage! And they are feet from me! THey flap and fly into the audience, the children go upstage and learn how to make nice with a dino — much like a dog or cat where you give them the top side of your hand to smell. I can’t recommend the show enough; my four-year-old was entranced. It’s playing at the Southbank Centre as part of the Imagine Festival through 21 February 2020.
