Seedlip & Aecorn

I have been sober for almost three years. It has been revelatory, infuriating, calming, eye-opening, and it has binded me to myself in a way that makes me fully feel awake and present.

It’s a great time to be sober. The market share for non-alcoholic drinks (or as they call them in Brooklyn — ‘zero proof cocktails’) is booming. I am in love with Seedlip. They are a company out of London that make drinks that taste amazingly like gin. They make them precisely as one would make gin but shut off the process before the sugar turns to alcohol. My wife and I are delighted whenever we drink them. Seedlip has transformed the drinks industry by letting bartenders become truly creative in what they can offer. They have three varietals: one that tastes like an allspice, cardamom gin; one that tastes of mandarine oranges, and one that tastes like pea shoots, earth, and all things that are green. They have also begun an outrageously delicious series of aperitifs called Aecorn. Also stupendous.
